EMDA (East Midlands Development Agency)
East Midlands Development Agency (emda) is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England, set up in 1999 to bring a regional focus to economic development. Our primary goal is to increase the economic growth of the region while reducing disparities between the East Midlands and other English regions.
Our key role is to be the strategic driver of sustainable economic development. We work in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to deliver the goals of the Regional Economic Strategy, which we produce on behalf of the region — which is why we are the catalyst for change in the East Midlands.
Our shared vision is that by 2020 the East Midlands will be a flourishing region. A region made up of growing and innovative businesses. A region where skilled people are employed in good quality jobs. A region where we all feel part of healthy, inclusive communities and live in thriving, attractive places.
BPEC
BPEC (Training) Ltd is a charity whose main focus is on the development of new training materials and courses. It also promotes the BPEC Plumbing Skills Competition and the Raymond J. Brooks Scholarship.
Since BPEC was established in 1990, it has prided itself on the development and sales of training materials that suit the needs and demands of the market in which the company operates. BPEC is dedicated to education and lifeong learning, and seeks to encourage operatives to undertake further training to continuously update their skills, both for personal development and to keep abreast of the industry's technological advances.
BPEC's vision is to focus on the long term development of the plumbing and heating industry, and the company thus reallocates all sales proceeds to the future development of new training materials and courses.
The BPEC Group
In addition to BPEC (Training) Ltd, the BPEC group consists of the two companies BPEC Services Ltd and BPEC Certification Ltd. BPEC Services Ltd is the leading provider of training materials for the Building Engineering Services sector, which covers the plumbing, electrotechnical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refridgeration industries.
BPEC Services's training materials range from technical training packs for domestic gas safety and water regulations to our range of Good Business Guides and computer training for the construction industry. Though the company currently does not offer training materials for commercial training, this is an area which will be developed in the near future.
BPEC Certification Ltd is devoted to the assessment and certification of a wide range of assessments, both domestic and commercial, under UKAS, CORGI, OFTEC and other assessment bodies. Also, it is responsible for the certification of the majority of BPEC Services's training courses.
