To facilitate the move towards a lower carbon future emda is ensuring appropriate support is available for Further Education Colleges and Skills Providers to provide suitable training within the region in energy technologies.

Mission

The Energy Technologies Teaching Equipment Grant programme provides financial support from emda to the region's FE colleges for the procurement of equipment to facilitate the teaching of energy technologies skills.

The programme has received a great deal of interest and support across the region with delivery of teaching due to commence in September 2008. Emda appointed Pro Enviro to manage the delivery of the project. The programme was launched at emda on the 13th June 2008 where it was extremely well received. Representatives from all of the colleges involved attended the launch.

The initial phase of the project will deliver to some 1,200 learners by December 2009.
