College Profiles

Castle College

Castle College Nottingham was formed by the merger of Broxtowe College and the People's College in 2006. As a larger college we are able to offer more choice, progression opportunities and locations for study. With large redevelopment projects already underway and more planned, the College will provide a continuing commitment to provide the best facilities for its students.

The College is an associate college of De Montfort, Nottingham Trent, Bedfordshire and Northampton Universities, providing exciting opportunities to take Higher Education courses locally.

The College is currently investing £85 million into improving facilities throughout its campuses, including a £35 million redevelopment of its flagship campus on Maid Marian Way. As well as providing Nottingham with world class skills, learning resources and the regional centre of excellence for Science, Technology & Engineering, the highly original mixed used building will combine the College with shops, offices and flats which will complement its historic surroundings.

Other exciting ventures include a makeover for the Chilwell campus in Beeston and a new Construction Centre on London Road in Nottingham. The College also has two Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Travel and Tourism and Health Sciences.

Grantham College

Grantham College is committed to the provision of high quality services in support of the lifelong learning needs of students. The College has a history of high achievement both in terms of student success and in partnership activities.

In addition to its further education remit, the College delivers a range of higher education programmes in partnership with De Montfort University and the University of Lincoln. Over the last three years Grantham College has also developed two Sports Academies and a Football Development Centre, drawing students from all areas of the country, and has further developed its international links.

In 2001 the yes brand was established to increase participation in learning in order to improve individual opportunities, community and business success. yes takes learning out of the traditional classroom and into the local and business communty.

Moulton College

Moulton offers a unique opportunity to study in a rural environment, to complete an academic qualification, and whilst doing so to obtain the essential practical experience that places our graduates at the ‘head of the queue’ when seeking employment. With fierce competition amongst graduates for the best job opportunities, the practical experience gained during your course at Moulton will give you a head start over those who have followed more traditional courses.

Whatever your prior achievement, we offer a course that will allow you to study at a level that matches your individual needs. In each subject area, structured progression routes will then allow you progress to degree level and beyond, or to step off the ladder at any point and move straight into employment. We are aware that many students leave College or University with substantial debt, and consequently we structure our courses to allow students to take part-time employment whilst studying. We also provide access to a wide range of bursaries and other awards.

The College offers a safe and supportive environment in which to study, together with a wide range of leisure and sporting facilities to help make your time at college a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Selecting from the range of colleges and courses of study available is not an easy matter. I hope this prospectus will help you to make those choices and that you will want to visit the College and see the wide range of opportunities on offer for yourself. The staff will be pleased to explain the courses to you in more detail and to answer any questions that you may have.

The success achieved by our students continues to be impressive, and we hope that you will want to share in that success by continuing your education at Moulton.

We are fortunate to have well qualified, experienced, caring staff operating in state of the art facilities who work hard to achieve our aim. They know that each student needs a safe environment in which to enjoy developing the skills that will make them employable in a rapidly changing labour market or ready for higher education.

At whatever starting point a student joins Stephenson College we have a wide range of courses from which they can choose and expert advice and guidance staff who will make sure their choice is the most suitable one. The practical and financial support available to students from the college and from a range of other sources is explained to ensure every effort is made to help our students. During their stay at the college each student is assigned an individual tutor who is determined to ensure they arrive at their intended destination having achieved their qualification and enjoyed a rich, rewarding experience along the way.

We know that in addition to the acquisition of vocational skills it is the development of the whole person that is essential. Our students have access to many diverse experiences that promote their health, well being and ability to contribute to the society in which we live.
